It is time to be a kid
So we have been doing pretty well lately. 1 visit to the ER because of a sore in Derek’s mouth which seems to be healing withthe help of some antibiotics.
We get up every morning for school that starts aroun 8am and Monet& I preoccupy our time until 10:15am when we pick Derek up. By 11:30am I am makinglunch and from about 12:15-1pm they play. Lately they play in our built-in entertainment center under the aquarium (their car) or in the laundry room (work/hospital.) We read books for 15-30 minutes and then it is naptime for 1-3 hours. Derek & Monet have a snack then I TRY to send them outside to play for awhile. Dinner time is around 5:30pm. Then play/clean up until 7pm. Finally shower and get ready for bed no later than 8pm. Honestly I think it is pretty “normal” and boring scheduled but I am REALLY REALLY happy about that because I want my kids to experience their own imagination and live normal kid lives. There is plenty of time in their lives to have adult responsibilities, stress & worry, I just want them to LOVE being a kid.
The 1 Year Kidney-versary Pizza Party(s)

So we had 2 parties this weekend, one Sunday night and one on Monday (while everyone else was having a Bar-B-Que.) The first on Sunday was just the four of us and we had a very nice time at Genarro’s a newer place that we had never tried but now L-O-V-E, they serve GREAT PIZZA.
Derek and Monet liked watching them toss pizza dough into the air. They also had good wings and salad too (ok you caight me I have a hard time “choking down” pizza most of the time-it is not one of my favorite foods.)
Then on Monday night we celebrated again but with my sister’s family and my parents at Peter Piper Pizza, nowhere near as tasty but there are tons of games to play and things to do, it is a down grade from Chuck-E-Cheese (I do have my limits.) My parents bought each of the kids costumes, they all love dress up so they put the costumes on despite the 100+ weather, Derek is the puppy-dog.

Thanks to all of you who celebrated with us at the table and in spirit again. We appreciate all of the love and support we have received from all of you.
