We just had a picnic in the backyard a couple of weeks ago and I thought I would share a few pictures from the event. Everyone is doing well right now and we are enjoying everyday to the fullest, or as much as we can.

We just had a picnic in the backyard a couple of weeks ago and I thought I would share a few pictures from the event. Everyone is doing well right now and we are enjoying everyday to the fullest, or as much as we can.

Here is the scoop, I’ll post pics later this week.
Monet’s procedure went well. She came out kicking and screaming at the nurses & wanted to walk out on her own. She is a little fighter just like her big brother. Since having the tubes put in, she is not very happy and we are hoping she adjusts to the noises of the world around her soon.
Derek was doing well until this last weekend when he started having fevers and some GI distress which ultimately put him in the hospital for a couple of days. We are still waiting for test results to come back from the cultures they took, but we have our own ideas where this may be coming from (more on that another day.) He still isn’t “over it” but he is keeping himself hydrated and that will hopefully keep him out of the hospital. He is still the little charmer, yelling at whomever walked by his hospital room and getting them stop in and socialize with him.
Derek also started 2 classes with the City’s Park & Recreation Program: Tiny Tykes Sports and ABCs & 123s. He really loves them both HOWEVER one of us must sit in with him because he just isn’t ready to be left alone yet. Every week (we are in week 3) he gets a little more involved. We are hoping that this will be a great introduction before he is off to REAL PRESCHOOL next fall.
Mrs. Franklin, his teacher for ABCs & 123s, already has him spelling his name and I think he is recognizing his name as well. He really enjoys seeing her and telling me all about her all week long. Mrs. Franklin is a VERY elderly black woman who has the heart of GOLD and the Patience of a saint, dealing with a dozen 3-4 year olds. She is so positive and keeps the 90 minute class moving along which keeps all the kids engaged. We are very happy to have him in her class.
Other than the busy of regular life we are doing well and learning to cope with the it all.
I hope everyone has a wonderful year and I am able to keep this blog updated better now that the holidays have come to an end.
